About the Artist: Kayla J. Brown
Kayla is a young professional artist specializing in fine art, illustration, and animation. She has been creating art for as long as she can remember; however, she began taking her craft seriously at age 11. Drawing inspiration from animated media and cartoons, she discovered her passion for art and a dream of working in the animation industry. Receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Digital Animation from Kennesaw State University has allowed her to propel her career even further.
She enjoys exploring different art media and has experience working with acrylic paint, oil paint, digital art, 3D modeling, sculpture, ink, graphite, and charcoal. Some of her art style primarily favors bold, expressive color palettes using imagery that highlights the essence and beauty of black women, an identity and experience that resonates with her deeply. Kayla's work has been featured in art galleries and exhibitions, including the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, GA, the Bernard A. Zuckerman Museum of Art at Kennesaw State University, and the Suwanee Arts Center in Suwanee, GA.
Kayla is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated (Initiated Spring 2022, Pi Phi Chapter) and serves as a Graphic Designer for the South Atlantic Region’s Marketing Committee. In her spare time, she enjoys playing the cello, music arrangement, gaming, writing, 3D printing, and baking.
